The White Swan marigold is a unique variety distinguished by its 2-3" cream to pale yellow, fully double blooms on sturdy, compact plants. Unlike typical marigolds, it emits a mild, sweet, marshmallow fragrance, and it surpasses other cream-colored marigolds in height and quality. Also known as African, American, or Aztec marigold, its flowers are edible, offering a floral, citrusy, and slightly bitter flavor, suitable for salads, desserts, and cooked dishes, with the recommendation to remove the bitter flower base before consumption.

Start seeds indoors (recommended) 4 - 6 weeks before last frost. Lightly cover seeds with soil. Fully harden off plants before planting outside. Pinching can promote branching and more flowers per plant. Seeds can be direct sown at 1/4“ deep after the danger of frost.

4-7 days at 75-80°F (24-27°C)

SOWING:

For flowering in packs, sow 8 weeks before desired bloom time. Direct seed - After last frost, sow 1/4" deep. Pinching encourages branching.
