To sow cabbage seeds, follow these general steps:
1. Seed Selection: Choose a cabbage seed variety suitable for your region and desired characteristics.
2. Timing: Cabbage is often started indoors 6-8 weeks before the last expected frost in your area. Check local frost dates.
3. Containers: Use seed trays or small pots with a good seed starting mix. Make sure the containers have drainage holes.
4. Sowing Depth: Plant cabbage seeds about 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep in the soil. Firm the soil gently over the seeds.
5. Moisture: Keep the soil consistently moist, but avoid overwatering. Ensure the containers or trays have good drainage to prevent waterlogging.
6. Temperature: Cabbage seeds germinate best in temperatures around 70°F (21°C). Use a heating mat if needed.
7. Light: Provide plenty of light for seedlings. A south-facing window or supplemental fluorescent lights work well.
8. Germination: Cabbage seeds typically germinate in 5-10 days. Once seedlings emerge, remove any covering and continue to provide adequate light.
9. Transplanting: When seedlings have grown a few true leaves, transplant them into larger pots or directly into the garden. Ensure proper spacing, usually about 18-24 inches apart for standard cabbage varieties.
10. Hardening Off: Before transplanting into the garden, gradually acclimate seedlings to outdoor conditions over a week to prevent transplant shock.
11. Planting in the Garden: Plant seedlings in well-drained soil with organic matter. Cabbage prefers cool weather, so consider the timing based on your local climate.
12. Care: Water consistently, and consider using a balanced fertilizer. Protect young plants from pests like cabbage worms.
Remember, specific details might vary based on the cabbage variety and your local growing conditions. Always refer to the seed packet for variety-specific guidelines.

However, because successful growth depends on various factors beyond our control—such as planting conditions, weather, and care—we cannot offer refunds for seeds, corms, or bulbs that do not germinate or sprout.
Thank you for your understanding and support. If you have any questions about planting or care, we’re happy to help!
