This tall red variety is optimal for cut flowers. Most cultivated Snapdragons belong to the species Antirrhinum majus, a native of the Mediterranean region. Dark Red Snapdragons should be grown in rich, well-drained soil. Grow them in full sun, and space this tall variety 12 - 18 inches apart. After they are done blooming, trim the plants back, and they will quickly be blooming again. They perform best in cooler summer climates. In hot regions, provide the plants with some afternoon shade.

Start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost. Light is required for germination. Seedlings will emerge in 10-21 days. Harden off the seedlings for 10 - 14 days before planting outdoors. Pinch back at the time of transplanting to encourage branching. Pinching encourages branching and a fuller plant. Transplant into the garden once the weather is warm enough.

Snapdragons should be harvested once the bottom 2-3 flowers have opened.

Multiple orders of a single item may be combined into 1 seed envelope unless otherwise instructed by buyer. We take great care to provide high-quality seeds, corms, and bulbs, all of which are tested for acceptable germination rates. However, because successful growth depends on various factors beyond our control—such as planting conditions, weather, and care—we cannot offer refunds for seeds, corms, or bulbs that do not germinate or sprout.

Thank you for your understanding and support. If you have any questions about planting or care, we’re happy to help!
