Purple-red flower plumes grow upright and are offset by green foliage. This amaranth stays a bit shorter, averaging 4 feet high. The young greens can be harvested for salad greens. Sow inside 4-6 weeks before the last frost or direct sow after the last frost. Sow thinly, barely covering seeds.
