Hollyhock Nigra

This variety of hollyhock will bring drama to the garden with its almost black colored blooms. Hollyhocks are tall, slender plants growing up to 6 feet tall and provide a unique texture to the back of a flower bed. A wonderful addition to cottage style gardens or along a picket fence. Hollyhocks are biennials or short lived perennials and bloom the second year after planting.

Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before your last frost. Sow the seeds 1/4 of an inch deep in cell trays or 2-3 inch pots. Keep soil moist at 70 degrees F to encourage germination.
