Sowing chia seeds is a simple process. Here's a step-by-step guide:
1. **Choose a Suitable Container:** Chia seeds can be grown indoors in pots or outdoors in the garden. If planting indoors, choose a pot with good drainage holes. If planting outdoors, make sure the soil is well-drained.
2. **Prepare the Soil:** If planting outdoors, prepare the soil by loosening it with a garden fork and adding compost for nutrients. Chia plants prefer well-drained soil.
3. **Sow the Seeds:** Sprinkle the chia seeds evenly over the soil surface. You don't need to bury them; simply press them gently into the soil using your hand or a piece of wood.
4. **Watering:** Water the seeds thoroughly after sowing. Chia seeds need consistent moisture to germinate, so keep the soil evenly moist. However, avoid overwatering, as waterlogged soil can cause the seeds to rot.
5. **Light:** Chia plants require plenty of sunlight to grow well. If growing indoors, place the pot in a sunny window or under a grow light. If planting outdoors, choose a sunny spot in your garden.
6. **Thin the Seedlings:** Once the seedlings have grown a few inches tall, thin them out if they are too crowded. Leave about 6-12 inches of space between each plant.
7. **Maintenance:** Chia plants are relatively low-maintenance. Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry periods. Fertilize the plants with a balanced fertilizer according to the package instructions if the soil lacks nutrients.
8. **Harvesting:** Chia plants will produce flowers, followed by seed heads. Allow the seeds to mature and dry on the plant. To harvest, cut the seed heads and hang them upside down in a dry, well-ventilated area until the seeds are completely dry. Once dried, thresh the seeds from the seed heads.
Remember that specific care requirements might vary based on your local climate and soil conditions, so it's always a good idea to consult local gardening resources or experts for region-specific advice.

Multiple orders of a single item may be combined into 1 seed envelope unless otherwise instructed by buyer. We take great care to provide high-quality seeds, corms, and bulbs, all of which are tested for acceptable germination rates. However, because successful growth depends on various factors beyond our control—such as planting conditions, weather, and care—we cannot offer refunds for seeds, corms, or bulbs that do not germinate or sprout.
Thank you for your understanding and support. If you have any questions about planting or care, we’re happy to help!
